Wallace F. Goldban, MD

As a board-certified ophthalmologist practicing at Desert Ophthalmology in Palm Springs and Palm Desert, California, Dr. Wallace Goldban, MD, provides a comprehensive range of eye care services. He specializes in treating eye diseases like glaucoma, cataracts, and dry eye. He prescribes both contact lenses and eyeglasses and offers a variety of frames to suit every taste and budget.

Dr. Goldban received his bachelor’s degree at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania before earning his medical degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. He served his residency in ophthalmology at Sinai Hospital of Detroit and also completed a rigorous fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the University of California, San Diego.

Outside of his practice at Desert Ophthalmology, Dr. Goldban is a Life Master in bridge, actively competing in tournaments, and also enjoys sports and travel.

About Dr. Duggan

Dr. John Duggan was born in Canada and raised in the Bay Area. He studied at the U.S.C. school of medicine and has practiced in San Diego and San Jose before relocating to the Desert 10 years ago. He can treat all types of eye conditions and will practice in our Palm Springs and Palm Desert locations.

Michael Rauser, MD

Desert Ophthalmology is proud to announce Dr. Michael Rauser, Chair of Ophthalmology and an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Loma Linda University Eye Institute, is now providing unparalleled Retina care to patients of Desert Ophthalmology.

He is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist with a subspecialty whose areas of expertise are Medical Retina, the treatment of diabetic retinopathy, and Retinopathy of Prematurity.

Dr. Rauser earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his Ophthalmology residency at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and a Retina & Vitreous Surgery Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, New York.

Dr. Rauser is trained in all aspects of vitreoretinal medicine and surgery. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Association for Research in Vision & Ophthalmology. He has written articles, been involved in multiple research projects, and has lectured nationally and internationally.
